District 69 Congressional Debate hosted by Seymour Chamber of Commerce
The Seymour Chamber of Commerce has announced it will host a public debate between the candidates for the Indiana District 69 congressional seat. The debate event will begin at 6:00pm on Tuesday, October 13, 2020 at the Knights of Columbus, 118 E. 2nd Street in Seymour.
Incumbent Republican Jim Lucas and Independent Katrina “Kat” Hardwick have both agreed to participate in the debate event.
The debate will be moderated by Dan Robison, President – Seymour Chamber of Commerce and Arann Banks, Executive Director – Jackson County Visitor Center. The questions for the debate will be submitted by various community leaders throughout Jackson County. Robison stated, “the Seymour Chamber has a long history of hosting various platforms for the public to hear from candidates and we believe it is important to provide a neutral platform from which the public can hear from each of these candidates leading up to the November election.”
While the public is invited to the debate event, COVID-19 precautions will be in place. These precautions may include seating arrangements, face covering expectations and attendance capacity limitations. Specific measures will be announced as the date of the event draws nearer.
